Sobre nosotros<\/h1>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t

Haven House ha servido y defendido a las v\u00edctimas de violencia dom\u00e9stica en el condado de Blount desde 1983.<\/h3>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Haven House existe para salvar y cambiar vidas afectadas por la violencia dom\u00e9stica a trav\u00e9s de la educaci\u00f3n, la prevenci\u00f3n y la intervenci\u00f3n. NUESTRA HISTORIA<\/h2>\n\t

Sobre la base de nuestra historia que comenz\u00f3 en 1981, continuamos con el legado de un esfuerzo de base que comenz\u00f3 con un grupo de mujeres que representaban a 45 iglesias y al Club Junior Chilhowee que cre\u00edan en abordar la violencia dom\u00e9stica en el condado de Blount, Tennessee.<\/p>\n

El gobernador de Tennessee, Lamar Alexander, y su esposa, Honey, se involucraron en la primavera de 1982 y encabezaron los esfuerzos de recaudaci\u00f3n de fondos para establecer un refugio donde las v\u00edctimas de la violencia dom\u00e9stica pudieran encontrar seguridad. El primer refugio de Haven House se abri\u00f3 el 11 de abril de 1983 y funcion\u00f3 desde los jueves por la ma\u00f1ana hasta los lunes por la noche gracias a la generosa ayuda de 35 voluntarios. M\u00e1s tarde ese a\u00f1o, se adquirieron fondos para el personal a tiempo completo, lo que permiti\u00f3 que Haven House permaneciera abierta a tiempo completo con un coordinador residente y un equipo de voluntarios.<\/p>\n

A trav\u00e9s de la generosidad de iglesias, grupos c\u00edvicos, negocios locales e individuos en toda la comunidad, el refugio se ha movido y crecido varias veces desde que comenz\u00f3 en nuestros esfuerzos constantes para brindar seguridad y recursos a m\u00e1s v\u00edctimas. Hoy en d\u00eda, podemos brindar refugio para hasta 17 mujeres y ni\u00f1os, adem\u00e1s de ayudar a cientos de v\u00edctimas a trav\u00e9s de nuestros muchos otros servicios fuera de nuestro refugio, como defensa judicial y legal, grupos de apoyo y asistencia para la vivienda.<\/p>\n\t

Al trabajar con nuestros socios a largo plazo como el Departamento de Servicios Humanos de Tennessee, United Way y la Oficina de Justicia Criminal, esperamos continuar construyendo sobre nuestra historia de salvar y cambiar vidas para las v\u00edctimas en las pr\u00f3ximas d\u00e9cadas.<\/p>\n\t\t\t
